Shelters & Rescues
Your Mission Is Rescue. Ours Is Making It Affordable.
Shelter workers and rescue volunteers are the safety net for animals with nowhere else to go. You provide medical triage, behavioral assessments, vaccination protocols, and daily care for animals in crisis — often on shoestring budgets funded by donations and grants.
Tails Co-Op was built to give organizations like yours access to professional-grade resources at prices that respect the reality of rescue work.
What Shelter & Rescue Members Get
Smarty Tests Access — Order diagnostics at cooperative member pricing. Run intake panels, heartworm tests, FeLV/FIV screens, and fecal exams without the retail markup. Every dollar you save on diagnostics is a dollar that goes back to the animals.
Cooperative Pricing on Preventive Care — Flea/tick prevention, dewormers, vaccines, and routine care products at bulk cooperative rates. Essential for organizations processing high volumes of animals.
Circle Community — Connect with other shelters, rescues, and foster networks. Share intake protocols, discuss transport logistics, coordinate overflow situations, and learn from organizations across the country.
Professional Resources — Access educational materials on shelter medicine, behavioral rehabilitation, disease outbreak management, and foster program development.
Why Co-Op Pricing Matters for Rescue
The average cost to prepare one dog for adoption — including spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip, and deworming — can easily exceed $300. Multiply that across hundreds of animals per year, and the math gets difficult fast. Tails Co-Op's cooperative model pools buying power across thousands of members, bringing per-unit costs down significantly.
For a shelter processing 500 animals per year, even modest savings on diagnostics and preventive care can free up thousands of dollars annually — enough to save more lives.
